Storefront Door Locks

Problems with your storefront or aluminum glass door?

Storefront doors take a beating, and when they fail your whole business feels it:

  • Door lock won’t latch, sticks, or spins without locking?
  • Aluminum-frame glass door sagging or out of alignment?
  • Deadlatch or hookbolt worn out from thousands of daily cycles?
  • Just took over a retail space and don’t know who has keys?

Storefront doors aren’t like the doors on a house. Narrow aluminum stiles, glass panels, and heavy foot traffic mean they use their own family of hardware — mortise hookbolts, deadlatches, push paddles, and pivots that a general handyman rarely stocks or understands. Installing the wrong lock in a narrow-stile door is one of the most common (and most expensive) mistakes we see on commercial jobs in Houston.

Alamo Key & Lock provides trusted Storefront Door Lock locksmith services in Houston and Surrounding areas. We install and repair Adams Rite style deadlatches and hookbolts, storefront lever trim and push paddles, occupancy indicator locks, and complete aluminum door hardware — for retail shops, restaurants, offices, and strip centers.

What Makes Storefront Locks Different?

Most storefront doors use a mortise-style lock body mounted inside the narrow aluminum stile — usually a hookbolt or deadlatch — paired with a cylinder on the outside. Because the stile is so narrow, standard residential or even standard commercial locks simply don’t fit. The hardware also has to survive hundreds of open-close cycles every business day.

For this reason, be sure to consult with the Alamo Key & Lock locksmith about your door before buying any hardware.

WHAT CAN WE DO FOR YOUR STOREFRONT?

Everything the front door of a business needs — repair, replacement, upgrades, and fresh keys.

We repair and replace hookbolt and deadlatch lock bodies, swap worn cylinders and rekey them so old keys stop working, install push paddles and lever trim, add occupancy indicator locks for restrooms and fitting rooms, and correct door alignment so the lock actually catches. If your door needs panic hardware or a door closer, we handle those too — see our panic bar service and door closer repair.

Taking over a lease? A same-day storefront rekey is the fastest, cheapest way to make sure previous tenants, employees, and contractors can’t walk in after hours. It’s the first call we recommend for every new business owner in Houston.

Whether it’s 7 AM before you open or midnight after close, our commercial locksmiths carry the storefront hardware on the truck to get your door locking the same visit. Visit our Commercial Locksmith page to see the full range of business services.
