Which Smart Lock Is Right For Your Door?
It depends on the door. Full-replacement models like the Schlage Encode or Kwikset Halo swap out the whole deadbolt and add a keypad. Retrofit models like the August Wi-Fi mount on the inside only, so your outside hardware — and your existing keys — stay exactly as they are, a favorite for renters and HOAs. Fingerprint models like Lockly suit families who’d rather not manage codes at all.
